Jeffrey Rath has $8.5 million in assets frozen amid First Nation court battle
Justice Marion ruled there was reasonable grounds to believe assets could be moved or dissipated before a final judgment is made regarding Rath’s court battle with the Tallcree First Nation.
A prominent lawyer representing the Alberta independence movement has had millions in assets frozen by a provincial judge following an ongoing court fight over trust money from a First Nation Treaty settlement.
Last week, Jeffrey Rath and his professional corporation had $8.5 million in assets frozen after Alberta Court of King’s Bench Justice Marion granted an interim Mareva order.
