Is the Alberta–Ottawa pipeline deal already dead?
Carney’s B.C.-dependent pipeline plan faces skepticism. Plus, new data reveals over 100,000 Canadians have died on medical wait-lists.
Ottawa’s proposed pipeline deal with Alberta is already facing major doubts. Prime Minister Mark Carney is expected to sign a memorandum of understanding with Premier Danielle Smith, but he has offered no timeline and says British Columbia will have full veto power — a position that leaves critics calling the agreement meaningless.
Some B.C. Liberal MPs are also uneasy, warning of backlash from anti-pipeline voters, while Industry Minister Mélanie Joly dismisses speculation she could be moved out of cabinet.
Marc Patrone is joined by Alberta Prosperity Project co-founder Jeffrey Rath who argues the deal leaves Alberta no further ahead and has intensified frustration within the United Conservative Party ahead of this weekend’s annual general meeting, where internal tensions over the pipeline file and independence movement are expected to surface.
Also, Colin Craig from SecondStreet.org joins the show to highlight new findings showing more than 100,000 Canadians have died on medical wait-lists since 2018, calling for better tracking, transparency, and reforms to reduce delays.

Of course it's dead! They will state: WE WANTED TO GIVE YOU A PIPELINE . . BUT EBY . . BUT INDIGENOUS CONSIDRRATIONS . . . BUT CARBON NEUTRAL . . . ETC. But rest assured THE RULING CLASSES OF OTTAWA WANTED TO!!!!
It sure is. Not sure the where’s and whyfors. But this is all smoke and mirrors for Carney,Eby and Smiths benefits. The only way that pipeline will go in is when we elect Poilievre and the Conservatives.
