A construction union has called on the federal government to pause its Temporary Foreign Worker program amid U.S. tariff threats as a means to secure more employment for domestic skilled workers.
I can only think of a couple of high schools in Canada that emphasize a technical vocation for its students. Most kids are groomed to go to universities and expect that if they are not given a job where one does not develop blisters then they have a right not to work. Community colleges correct that attitude to some degree but there are any number of students who attend university just to party. Yet the university must hire professors of all ranks to teach these leeches. What a waste of taxpayers' money. Once you fail two 101 courses you should be kicked out.
