INVESTIGATION: Inside a targeted 'collective action' campaign against Canadian companies
A pro-Palestinian activist network praised past criminal activity and urged escalation as part of a strategy targeting companies from B.C. to Newfoundland.
Days after Palestine Action Canada claimed responsibility for criminal vandalism at a Vaughan defence manufacturer, activists attending an online strategy session were directed to a toolkit identifying dozens of Canadian companies supplying parts to Israel’s defence industry.
One of the companies listed was Dishon Limited, the same business Palestine Action Canada had taken responsibility for attacking just days prior.
The July 16 webinar, organized through the Arms Embargo Now campaign, is run by a network of pro-Palestine activist groups, some with a chequered past.
During the webinar, organizers from World Beyond War, Palestine Solidarity Network, and the Palestinian Youth Movement identified companies to target and launched a “coordinated national day of action” campaign to increase pressure on businesses they believe are connected to defense technology manufacturer Elbit Systems.
