An international student is accused of luring and sexually assaulting a young Indigenous woman with a developmental disability in British Columbia, before potentially fleeing the country, according to the RCMP, who are now searching for him.

The victim, identified as “Sarah,” is from B.C.’s Fraser Valley. She shared her story in the hopes it would serve as a warning to other women.

Jogeshwarjeet Malhotra, 24, has since been charged with sexual assault, though not yet proven in court.

“I’m still scared. It hurts that I [still] feel unsafe to go to the mall by myself,” Sarah told CP24.
