International Olympic Committee bans biological males from female sports
The committee said that allowing biological males to compete against women at the Olympics "simply would not be safe.”
In a major victory for fairness in women’s sports, the International Olympic Committee has finally declared that only “biological females” will be eligible to compete in female categories at the Olympic Games and all other related events.
“The policy that we have announced is based on science, and it has been led by medical experts with the best interest of athletes at its heart,” said the committee’s President, Kirsty Coventry, in a video posted to social media on Thursday.
