Prime Minister Mark Carney is pushing to “build on” Canada’s massive intake of Indian international students as India’s High Commissioner said Canada’s population needs to increase by a staggering 150 per cent, insisting India should fill the gap.

The Commissioner said India could help Canada reach that goal by providing 60 million new immigrants.

During a joint press conference with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Monday, Carney announced a new Canada-India Talent and Innovation strategy, along with energy and investment agreements with India.
