Iman Behdar arrested for sexually assaulting 8-year-old girl in Scarborough store

Officers say Iman Behdar of Toronto approached the young victim inside the store, sexually assaulted her, followed her as she tried to escape, and then physically grabbed the terrified child.

Families in Scarborough are furious after Toronto Police confirmed the arrest of a 32-year-old man, Iman Behdar, accused of sexually assaulting an eight-year-old girl in the middle of a busy retail store in broad daylight.

According to the Toronto Police Service, the brazen attack unfolded on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at approximately 3:52 p.m. near Finch Avenue East and McCowan Road.
