I believe we are not going to see a change until the boomer generation is gone. Most have few or no children so to them our national debt is someone else’s problem. Their houses have quadrupled in value so they will never have to worry about money as long as they live. They are the most pampered and selfish generation in history.
Every day there are articles dealing with the country has been destroyed by our government. And I see polls that say the Liberal government is leading as the best choice to run the country. So does that mean that those polled are happy to see Canada go down the tube. My thoughts say if our government is doing a grand job, Canada should be thriving and all people have good jobs plenty of affordable food to eat we should not need “Free” dental , pharmaceutical a and school lunch programs. Someone is not telling the right story of Canada.
I believe that every community needs to take responsibility for its own future. In practical terms, that means discovering your communities natural advantage and using it to leverage prosperity.
There are a lot of barriers to doing this in how confederation is set up, starting with the role of the various levels of government and how we tax. So if your community has natural resources, the royalites from those natural resources should pay for the services your community needs. Our system sends the royalties to the provincial & federal governments to service the major cities.
The Big cities exist to provide services, so they should recieve thier revenue from servicing the hinterlands. It is the job of the big cities to host the schools that train the workforce in the mines, train the engineer & host the engineering companies designing the mining operation, etc. They should be doing the research that allows the farmers to practice better farming, etc.
Transfer payments work against Canadian Prosperity as they are basically instriments of plunder. We can't build pipelines because Vancouver gets the revenue from natural resources but gets to believe that they are better than the dirty oil guys. In other words Vancounver doesn't understand that its prosperity comes from facilitating trade (raw materials for finished goods)
When communities are responsible for thier future and stop looking for money from Big Centralized Government (or big Centralized business) Canada will never be prosperous. Note that this also means that taxes need to go to local communities, and not the federal government plunder machine.
We have done virtually nothing! This shows how weak we are when it comes to defending Canada. We allow Liberals to rape and destroy everything Canada stands for without a murmur from the silent majority.
It's going to take total destruction before we wake up and realize our freedoms have been flushed down the sewer.
