There was an iron ceiling for Jews to rise above a low rank in the Federal Government which was still present in the 1950s and 1960s until Pierre Trudeau became PM.
Quota systems for Jewish students into Medicine, Law and other professional schools continued also into the 1970s and 1980s. . Here in Winnipeg the St. Charles Country Club, the most prestigious one in Winnipeg, the Manitoba Club, a prestigious business men's club, the Winter Club all banned Jews even until the new millennium. Jews were not allowed to own or live in Victoria Beach, nor in Tuxedo, until the seventies or eighties.
Now we have returned to the past. No Jews allowed into Medicine this past year in Manitoba and ones getting into other professional courses have to hide their identity as Jews. The Arts communities have banned Jews unless they give up their identities and join the self-hating Jews who grovel and ask forgiveness for being Jewish.
