NO SANCTION: Carney MP broke ethics rules by directing taxpayer funds to family businesses

The federal ethics commissioner has found that Nunavut MP Lori Idlout violated parliamentary conflict-of-interest rules by obtaining taxpayer reimbursements for purchases from businesses owned by herself and her spouse.

The finding is contained in the Idlout Report, released Wednesday by Conflict of Interest and Ethics Commissioner Konrad von Finckenstein.
