Governor General Mary Simon, who already earns five times the average Canadian salary, is set to automatically receive a $1,317 monthly pay raise, pushing her annual income close to $400,000, all paid for by taxpayers.
Documents obtained by the Canadian Taxpayers Federation (CTF) from the Privy Council Office confirm that Gov. Gen. Mary Simon’s salary will increase to $398,800 this year. The PCO said the salary is “determined in accordance with the provisions of the Governor General’s Act.”
