Government "hate line" now targets OFFENSIVE JOKES
Pickering Councillor Lisa Robinson warns the region’s new community-based hate reporting program could be weaponized to silence political dissent — and even investigate jokes.
If you live in Durham Region, be careful what you say — even a joke could land you under scrutiny. The region’s website lists “offensive jokes” as a form of hate or discrimination that can be reported through its community-based hate reporting program.
Pickering Ward 1 Councillor Lisa Robinson joins Marc Patrone to explain why the anonymous reporting system risks being abused — diverting resources away from serious crimes and creating a culture of fear.
Robinson, who has gone nearly two years without pay after clashing with council colleagues, argues the program could be used to target political opponents and chill free expression.
Is this about protecting communities — or policing speech?

Elect Garbage... Get Garbage Governance and Policy back.
The latest example... Pickering Council.
Anonymous reporting.????
Shades of so many failed political cultures.
Canada seems to have an ever increasing number of those.
There is something very offensive here and frankly it stinks to high heaven.
That would be Pickering Council.
Any members of that council from the UK??
Just wondering.
.... Sorry ... Added later and should have been obvious... MOST OBVIOUS.
The "Offensive Jokes"... Pickering Council.
The way to handle this is to lay hate speech charges against the people who made the rule. See how long there rules last.
