Alberta teachers rallied outside the legislature in Edmonton on Thursday, demanding smaller class sizes. However, protestors—some of whom were dressed up like witches and goblins—rejected the idea that rapid population growth through immigration was to blame, calling it “a distraction.”

The precise number of teachers who attended the rally on Thursday is difficult to ascertain, with estimates ranging from hundreds to thousands.
