The most often quoted version of that old proverb is:

A modern update for today's media would read"
Don't believe anything you read in the funny papers.
Back in the day, "the funny papers" were reference to the comic section of the news paper. ("Peanuts", "The Family Circus", "Blondie", "Beetle Bailey", "Dennis the Menace", "Li'L Abner", etc. ) "I'll see you in the funny papers", was the common phrase.
Juno News, like any other news platform, they will only show you what they want you to see and hear, and not what there is to see and hear. This is not done necessarily in any measure of willful deceit, but managed by how incredibly uneducated and naïve these reporters are.
That's one point of view.
Another is that Juno and the other truly independent platforms report their news with an honest and unmistakable bias. If you don't want to read it, don't.
The bought and paid for MSM is every bit as biased, but far more deceitful about it. With their vast circulation - due solely to taxpayer funding btw - their reporting is much more insidious. Here are just two small examples:
Post Media's top reporter, while bemoaning the current spate of floor crossings, concluded his piece with " ... but in the end, that's just politics as usual" forever dismissing the matter. A very polished and professional writer, he demonstrated the fine political art of being able to speak out of both sides of his mouth at the same time. It's hard to take anyone seriously after that masterpiece.
The only correct definition of the current floor crossings is "A direct, frontal and criminal assault on our democracy. Your vote no longer counts".
The second, and most common tactic is to manage the news via headlines.
They understand that the vast majority of their readers scan the headlines only, skimming through the content. But the headline is the message. As with the constant, daily headlines questioning Poilievre's leadership and popularity.
Or the incessant fake polls which all spell doom and gloom for the Conservatives. They all have their desired effect. This "headline imprinting" is used in every single sector of political and economic reporting.
I'll stop there, but could go on for days about how the MSM conducts business for the Liberal Party.

Founded by Keean Bexde and Candace Malcolm, The CEO of Juno News is Candice Malcom. Together, they decide what you will see and what you will not see. If Juno was as Independent as they claim they are, Rebel News included, they would publicly disclose a detailed list of their major donors or institutional backers.

If they're seen as being too biased or have inaccurate reporting, these organizations would soon fail. Instead, BECAUSE THEY REPORT FACTS, their readership is increasing. I kept the “hard copy” of the Opinion piece by the Public Editor, Sylvia Stead”, on August 28, 2021: “No both sides on Covid-19, many angles on election” with the subheading “We have a public service responsibility to provide accurate, silence-based news on vaccines.” No other science based views allowed. “The ‘other side’ is misinformation.”
