Liberal leadership contender Chrystia Freeland told Bill Maher that she is an “an old school liberal” and that she won’t emphasize virtue signalling and identity politics as much as PM Trudeau has.
Freeland is trying to distance herself but she was the Deputy PM and sure didn't try to oppose any of his policies for the last ten years. She froze the bank accounts of everyday Canadians during the Freedom Convoy and called the protestors terrorists. She only acted when she was fired from her job. This old saying applies here - "A leopard can't change it's spots"

I will never forget the smug and smirky look on Freeland’s face when she announced that she would be freezing the bank accounts of not only the Freedom Convoy truckers, but also of those Canadians who offered any significant financial support to this grassroots movement against vaccine mandates. Alas, she will no doubt continue to fool some of the people all of the time if - God forbid - she acquires the reigns of power in Canada.
