Fréchette replaces Legault as CAQ leader, becomes premier-elect of Quebec
Fréchette was a former political analyst for Radio-Canada and held several roles in François Legault's cabinet.
Christine Fréchette was elected leader of the Coalition Avenir Québec (CAQ), officially becoming the premier-elect of Quebec.
She succeeds the party’s founding leader François Legault, who resigned in January following a sustained decline in provincial polling.
