Fréchette replaces Legault as CAQ leader, becomes premier-elect of Quebec

Christine Fréchette was elected leader of the Coalition Avenir Québec (CAQ), officially becoming the premier-elect of Quebec.

She succeeds the party’s founding leader François Legault, who resigned in January following a sustained decline in provincial polling.
