Charges against academic Dr. Frances Widdowson over a controversial University of Victoria campus visit have been dropped, ending a trespassing case that began after she was escorted off campus and arrested by RCMP last year.

In December, Widdowson was arrested and ticketed for trespassing after she attended an event with OneBC Leader Dallas Brodie at the post-secondary institution to discuss ongoing claims that a former residential school in Kamloops, B.C., was home to hundreds of unmarked graves.
