Any corporation that has to rely upon the taxpayer's dollars does not deserve to exist. Period.

William Stewart's avatar

Yes Harold.

That simple really.

"Uncomfortable and Disturbing" does not even begin to cover what the CBC has become.

The CBC is toxic... Period... End... Full Stop.

CBC should be shut DOWN! They are a disgrace to everything that Canada "supposedly" stands for - honesty, integrity, truth, facts, unbiased journalism, .... you name it!

Randy F's avatar

Major changes are needed but won’t happen as long as Liberals remain in power. They are quite happy with CBC efforts on their behalf.

People need to get involved

Carnage and his cbc puppet show.

What else could you expect.

Anthony Tasker's avatar

Its way before Carney

Lawrence Clooney's avatar

Agreed. This can't be blamed on Mr. Carney. However, the buck stops with Mr. Carney, Heritage Minister and possibly the CRTC. There was a video segment where Travis referenced the Broadcasting Act which may involve the CRTC. I predict changes to the Act in the forth coming months. And with a majority Liberal HoC and Senate, it will be slam dunk.

Defund and let them attempt to survive on their product alone. We know where trash belongs don't we?

Funded by both advertising and tax payers there is clearly no independent thought.

Anthony Tasker's avatar

No independent advertisers either

susan gerbes's avatar

sorry - that's wrong. If you watch a decent show like the British baking shows, on CBC (the only decent shows they have), they are now about 35 minutes long out of 60 and the commercials are frequent and repetitive. Two years ago the same show would have had fewer commercials. CBC is a one sicko organization

Anthony Tasker's avatar

It depends on the word "independent"

susan gerbes's avatar

I guess I mean ones that help pays their bills.....duh.....after all the graft Carnage gives them, and they still require advertising cash, means quite clearly that they are dull at best at keeping the books. Especially when the top level cooks them!!!

Anthony Tasker's avatar

I would have to examine each ad to decide how independent they each are

susan gerbes's avatar

do you mean ....doordash, pet food, incontinence underwear, etc...?

Funny I haven’t seen anything in any legacy media channels yet!!

The good news is that despite everything the CBC is dying a slow and painful death as viewership dries up everywhere. Check out Juno News' and Northern Perspective's reports on it.

CBC is on taxpayer life support, Time for taxpayers to "pull the plug".

The GoC Chief Data Officer stated 15% reduction in public servants as result of AI deployment. I believe this a "feel good|" number. Now apply this to the CBC. Just like CNN, the CBC will be kept alive, with low cost AI, as long as their listeners.

Tech Buzzard's avatar

Nope they will just get more taxpayer money.

Mr Dhanraji was forthright, consistent, competent, and sincere in his testimony in the Parliamentary committee hearing. He named names. He promised to give documents supporting his testimony to the members hearing the committee.

The rumours that CBC may be biased now have a foundation with sworn testimony.

There are strong indications the public broadcaster is a pawn and voice of the Liberal party.

Kudos to Mr Dhanraji for his courage to hold to his integrity and speak out.

Well WHO is surprised at all! This is EXACTLY how our current FAKE government views ALL conservatives. Let me ask one question… WHO has systematically committed the act of SCHISM in our country, dividing it, letting in millions who have completely different rules for themselves and others, allowing woke agendas to be preferred over (normal) norms. ETC!!!

Anthony Tasker's avatar

I'm so happy that finally some insider CBC people are speaking out ... Its gotten soooo ridiculous

Thank you to Juno News for covering this, providing validation regarding CBC’s downfall. Also listening to others perspectives relating to AI, small town news roadblocks, anti-semitism which Canada has allowed to fester in our country. Some concerns I had during broadcast started when Mike Fegelman spoke bringing to light the Palestinian demonstrations and what the Jewish communities in Canada experienced over the last couple years. The streaming during his session was broken up therefore unable to really hear what he said. Then during the questioning section Dr. Harsh Shani-Narkiss’s piece we were advised his audio was not clear and he was never allowed to speak about his data etc. this was an issue with another speaker and they took the time to correct it, why wasn’t Dr. Shani-Narkiss provided the same opportunity! Then I felt Martin Champoux had an agenda of his own during his time questioning Mike Fegelman. He stated that Mr. Fegelman had the remaining minute to answer his questions. This was not respected as Mr. Champoux cut Mr. Fegelman off and proceeded to use up the remaining time to push his own agenda. Sorry but Mr. Champoux was rude and unprofessional plus the commentator should have dealt with this. Anyway this was still very informative and I truly hope the CBC will be dealt with and we can see balanced news soon!!! Good Luck Travis! I will be watching your ( the the others) journey.

It's great that he came forward to confirm what the rest of us have known and said for ages. But really what good will it do. Especially when the liberals are rolling out their "gag bills". Not going to change the minds of the morons who voted for exactly what is happening in canada.
