Ford’s Texas trade trip cost taxpayers $93,000

While the premier’s office claimed it made all efforts “to maximize outcomes and minimize costs,” the trip still costs taxpayers $93,179.

Ontario Premier Doug Ford left taxpayers on the hook for more than $93,000 for a trip to Texas to “advance” trade talks with local business leaders and companies.

According to the premier’s office, the trade mission was to iron out logistics between Texas and Ontario, which have a “long-standing trade relationship that benefits families, workers and businesses on both sides of the border.”
