Ford on trade mission in Dallas, Texas: X

Ontario Premier Doug Ford expressed his opposition towards any deal being struck between Stellantis NV and China’s Zhejiang Leapmotor Technology Co. building electric vehicles in his province without the procurement of local auto parts.

Ford scoffed at the notion of the two automakers using what are known as “knockdown kits,” which involve vehicles being primarily built in China and then imported into Ontario for sale.
