Floor-crosser Michael Ma calls China’s Uyghur slavery camps “hearsay”

Floor-crosser and Liberal MP Michael Ma put out a statement downplaying his behaviour at a recent committee meeting after casting doubt on well-documented human rights abuses against Uyghur minorities perpetrated by communist China.

“Have you witnessed forced labour in Xinjiang? Have you witnessed forced labour? Just a short answer. Have you witnessed forced labour in Xinjiang, yes or no?” Ma asked an expert witness testifying during a House of Commons committee meeting.

“So did you get that from hearsay?”
