An economic think tank is calling on the Carney government to rein in deficit spending, as Ottawa intends to outspend the country’s gross domestic product this year. According to the C.D. Howe Institute’s latest report, “Canada can no longer pride itself on its fiscal discipline.”

The report published on Thursday called Fiscal Fantasy: Believe It or Not, Fiscal Reality Hasn’t Gone Away, says it’s time for the Liberals to make some tough decisions when it comes to spending.
