First Nations Chief sounds alarm on B.C.'s debt crisis
Chief Aaron Pete joins Kris Sims to discuss British Columbia's debt crisis, natural resource development, private property rights, and the growing demand for accountable government
On today's episode of The Fighter, Chawathil First Nation Chief Aaron Pete joins Kris Sims to discuss British Columbia’s growing debt crisis, natural resource development, private property rights and the future of grassroots democracy in Canada.
Pete says governments are out of money and the only realistic path forward is growing the economy through responsible resource development, including pipelines, mining and energy projects that directly benefit local communities.
They also discuss rising fears around private property rights in British Columbia, frustration with political elites, and why many Canadians feel ignored by their governments.
Pete explains why he believes more direct accountability through town halls, referendums and community engagement is essential to restoring trust in public institutions.
