Feds "gutted" emergency response staff who could have "battled wildfires"

Public Service Alliance of Canada confirmed the cuts affected the government’s response to the ongoing wildfires.

The Carney government’s plan to reduce the number of public service employees included slashing roughly 50 per cent from the federal nerve centre for emergency response earlier this year.

According to the Public Service Alliance of Canada, the union that represents more than 245000 workers across the country, confirmed the cuts affected the government’s response to the ongoing wildfires.
