Federal govt projects housing starts will drop below pandemic lows

Despite ambitious promises from the Carney government, Canada's housing supply is projected to worsen, a recent report from the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation reveals.

The Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) forecasts Canadian housing starts will reach 237,800 this year, down from 245,367 last year and worse than pandemic levels.
