Canada border officers deport 111 alleged extortion gang members
The Canada Border Services Agency announced it successfully deported 111 suspected organized criminals involved in nationwide extortion-related offences.
Canada’s border control officers have announced the successful deportation of 111 individuals connected to extortion-related organized crime following a year-long investigation.
According to the Canada Border Services Agency announcement, 58 individuals have been removed from Canada’s Pacific region, 30 have been removed from the Prairie region, and 23 have been deported from the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).

“As of September 3, 2026, 188 removal orders have been issued on various inadmissibility grounds, and 111 individuals have been removed from Canada,” the Monday announcement reads.
In the Pacific region, the most common area for extortion-related crimes that lead to deportations, 91 removal orders have been issued, but as of September 3, the CBSA has only successfully removed 58 of those.
In the Prairie regions, 30 of the 47 removal orders have been successfully carried out, while 23 of the 50 removal orders for the GTA have led to successful deportations.
The removals of the individuals who were deemed inadmissible stem from a CBSA investigation in Canada’s Pacific and Prairie regions starting in August 2025. Later that year, in November, the investigation was expanded to include the GTA.
“The removal of more than 100 individuals linked to extortion activities reflects CBSA’s sustained efforts to identify, investigate and take action against those who pose a threat to our communities,” Erin O’Gorman, the President of the CBSA, said in a statement. “These results also demonstrate the impact of strong collaboration with law enforcement partners across Canada and our shared commitment to combatting organized crime.”
One of the individuals, Palwinder Singh, “a foreign national linked to an extortion-related shooting” in the fall of 2025 was removed after the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada (IRB) found him inadmissible due to being a member of a “criminal organization linked to extortion-related violence”.
Another, Jasmer Singh, was convicted of forcible confinement and found inadmissible for “serious criminality,” and was removed from Canada.
Amitoz Bajwa was deported after the IRB found that he was a member of an organization engaged in a pattern of criminal activity. Bajwa was also found to be involved in a “firearms-related activity and an extortion-related shooting.”
Another gang member, Sahibjot Singh, was deported and even acknowledged committing offences that formed part of an organized crime group’s “pattern of criminal activity”.
According to the agency, the CBSA removed 23,160 inadmissible persons in 2025, 1,010 of whom were subject to “serious inadmissibility for serious criminality,” including national security, war crimes, human rights violations and organized crime.
