A Chinese EV manufacturer with plans to open roughly 20 sales locations across Canada had one of their plants erupt in an explosion in an entire parking garage and was engulfed in flames in a massive EV fire in Shenzhen, China on Tuesday.

BYD Co. plans to open locations across Canada by the end of this year in the wake of the Carney government opening the door for Chinese EVs to enter the Canadian market as part of its new auto strategy.
