Update (1/15/2026): An earlier version of this article described Fadi Mehanna as a department head. Mehanna’s attorney reached out to Juno News to advise that “he no longer holds this title there.”

A “Christmas in Palestine” hallway display at a Peel District School Board high school turns the birth of Jesus into a modern political story about Palestine, using the holiday as a doorway into land claims and grievances about the war in Israel.

The display appears at Fletcher’s Meadow Secondary School in Brampton, Ontario. Photos shared with True North show a multi-panel project titled “Christmas in Palestine,” prepared by teacher Fadi Mehanna.
