The RCMP has refused to provide any answers as to why there was a heightened police presence at the Maison de Radio-Canada building in Montreal after last week’s post-debate scrum was abruptly cancelled.
Uniformed officers from the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal and what appeared to be members of an RCMP tactical unit, arrived at the public broadcaster’s media complex shortly after 10:15 p.m., approximately 20 minutes after the debate had concluded. Multiple cruisers were seen stationed along René-Lévesque Boulevard and around the perimeter of the building.
