A University of Windsor student previously found by a university investigation to have engaged in sexual misconduct is now facing criminal charges.

Court documents obtained by Juno News show Windsor police have charged non-binary man Phoenix Shield, legally known as David Williston, with two counts of sexual assault. The charges stem from allegations first brought forward through the university’s sexual misconduct process.

No-contact conditions for complainant Jake Lenfeld and another individual have been imposed, and Shield is scheduled to appear in Windsor court on June 12.
