Goodlife Fitness has broken its silence after rumours online suggested that a staff member might have been fired after an incident last week where a Sikh TikTok influencer alleged he had been “racially singled out” when asked to leave the gym for wearing a kirpan.

TikTok influencer Gurpartap Singh Khalsa recorded the interaction last week between himself and a Goodlife Fitness employee at the Windsor Dougall gym, who told him to leave after a member raised safety concerns over Khalsa, who came into the gym with a kirpan, a religious dagger that many Sikhs carry.

Despite rumours that Goodlife Fitness fired the employee due to the interaction, a spokesperson for Goodlife Fitness told Juno News that “no one has been, nor will be, terminated as a result of the interaction in our Windsor club.”
