Months after resigning as Chair of the York Region Children’s Aid Society amid allegations of a toxic workplace and anti-Black racism, Hartman Public School principal Saira Salman is facing a separate set of allegations involving her dual role as principal and child welfare board chair.

Evidence including an audio recording, emails, court documents and more than a dozen witness statements shared with Juno News was submitted to the Ministry of Education as part of a brief requesting an independent investigation into Salman's conduct.

Salman was appointed principal of Hartman Public School in Aurora, Ontario, in September 2023 after serving as a principal with the neighbouring Peel District School Board.
