Residents in Edmonton’s Delton and Alberta Avenue neighbourhoods are slamming the city’s new bike lanes and parking restrictions, arguing they are making already treacherous winter driving conditions worse, even as city hall defends its snow-clearing during a record-breaking snowy season.

Residents have sent a series of emails over the past several weeks to city council, the mayor, provincial officials, and major media outlets, outlining safety risks created by recent changes. They described overnight parking removals, unplowed bike lanes, and narrowed roads during extreme cold, arguing the changes pose dangers for drivers, pedestrians, and emergency vehicles.
