In the exclusive interview, Smith said a Liberal majority government “could help” to get the ball rolling on pipeline projects, but it depends on whether Prime Minister Mark Carney sticks to his word.
Smith argues Canada is living through the consequences of a “decade of missed opportunity,” saying projects like Energy East Pipeline, Northern Gateway Pipeline, and Keystone XL Pipeline could have dramatically increased Canada’s ability to supply oil to global markets today.
She also weighs in on Ottawa’s claims that energy projects are being “fast-tracked,” the growing political pressure to expand pipelines, and the possibility that a stronger federal majority government could help push major projects forward.
The premier also addresses rising support for Alberta independence, saying her focus is on restoring economic opportunity and demonstrating that a stronger Alberta can still mean a stronger Canada.

I find it interesting that she talks about the eastern business community wanting to work and the "power elites" not wanting to is the issue right there. It IS a detriment to Canada and it is what RUNS Canada, NOT the business community. We are hooped. We can 'hope' all we want. Reality is biting us.
