To Clo and Carl, and all other Westerners from a born and raised Easterner - Ottawan in fact.

I agree with you 100% and please be aware that many - if not most - Canadian Easterners feel the same and support your struggle unreservedly. We are being victimised by this Liberal/WEF/NDP coalition as much as the West. When Alberta fails, or is prevented from living up to its economic potential, the rest of Canada fails as well.

It's not simply Eastern votes keeping these morons in power, it's the ongoing support from the political "intelligentia" in Quebec, and the automatic vote from the millions of new immigrants, mainly clustered - thereby easier to control - in the large cities. Doug Ford's crossing floor to join the Liberals may have been the deciding factor in the last election.

And not to be taken lightly, the Liberal's ownership of the CBC, whose job it is to keep the sheep calmed down with a constant stream of pap and pablum and their "Nothing to see here folks" dictates in response to the endless Liberal crimes and scandals.

And if all that's not enough, our electoral process is more than suspect. For a full understanding of that, just analyse the Liberal Leadership farce - sorry, I meant "race".

The Freedom Convoy, organised by Westerners, provided me and most other Ottawans with a long awaited and much needed moment of national pride. I spent 3 joyous days soaking up the incredible atmosphere on Wellington St, with the bouncy castles, hamburgers for the homeless, and the feeling of true national unity absent for so long. Absent in Canada actually since the appearance of Trudeau the Elder. I was 78 years old during the Convoy, it was -25 celsius, and I felt neither of those statistics. The Convoy also blessed us with the national acceptance of the "F*** Trudeau flags.

That Convoy showed me what true Canadian spirit, courage, and commitment is and that it still exists. And the rest of the world took notice, as well. We need that now, more than ever.

It's not the people or imaginary lines on a map that divides us. It's the politicians, and divided, we fall.

To unseat these liberals we need a second massive trucker freedom convoy escorted by many thousands if not millions of patriotic Canadians, and no backing down this time come what may.

I agree with that, having voted Liberal a few times when I was younger. But the reality is that the Liberal Party no longer exists. It has been hijacked by the WEF - and others.

It's unfortunate that most lifelong Liberals don't see that and refuse to look at the truth.

Yes. The Libs and NDP are to the left of Stalin now. All the political parties have changed so much they need new names. The Conservative Party for example contains no true conservatism.

Living in Ottawa I echo your sentiments. The freecom convoy gave me hope but our government took it away. Poilievre is another ray of hope that seems to be fading as turncoats go to the elite wef liberals. Very discouraging times

No. But waaayyyy too many did and will continue to vote for the destruction of Canada.

Alberta oil should have been dominating world oil markets by now but instead they prefer to give BILLIONS to American companies and then cry about it when the money goes south.

Germany buying LNG from Russia in a time of War with Ukraine and the Liberals dilly dally on selling Canadian LNG to Germany?!

This while we funnel billions of our tax dollars to Ukraine?

So much for the 'new boss BS, he's the same as the old boss'

Ah yes, yet ANOTHER liberal 'sticking it' to Alberta. Thank you very much Ontario, Quebec, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, PEI, NFLD -- us Westerners appreciate y'all stealing our money every year, not working very hard to make your own wealth, and then stopping us from making any more [of which you'd steal a cut...just like the mob]. F you all Eastern Kanada - long live a FREE AND INDEPENDENT ALBERTA!

Comments like this are from those with their heads buried in the political sands. Allowing the liberal government to divide us east to west. This article is not directed at the west. There is too much listening to others instead of reading and understanding all the resources we have in Canada. Nfld has enough oil off their coast to supply eastern provinces for decades but Liberals will not let the projects move forward. No need for a pipeline to the east. Quebec has all LNG we need for Canada and for exporting. But the province won’t let it be mined. So one can spell Canada with a K and speak as if eastern provinces are stealing from the west but what we need is to get more people out to vote. Make it ok to talk politics in the open. Open debate will bring things closer together

Does any of this surprise anyone, this government talks a lot does nothing and I think they do not know where they are going. Our leading banks are cautious in their comments re this budget, and that gives me the jitters. Furthermore, I learned recently that during COVIDs, the Ontario government re-financed their debt when the interest rate were almost at rock bottom at fixed rate. However, Ms Freeland (with Mr Carney's advice ??) refinanced the federal debt during the same period at a floating rate and that is why our repayment debt load is so high now. Does this government, and especially this PM, have any idea what they are doing? I guess we will just have to "Follow the Money"

If I may, interesting that the MSM is focused on “everything Trump” and the LPC on supply mgmt and auto sector , both of which are protected industries that we hold zero competitive advantage in and with autos , in long term secular decline

LPC policies have cost Alberta over last 11 years and estimated 1/ Trillion in lost investment .

Why?

Why?

GHG went up so it cannot be climate .

The reality is Power, and the Elites in the Laurentians are happy with all being poorer as long as power remains in central n eastern Canada

It’s sickening and if course the LPC elites ( see CBC as an example ) are unaffected by their policies

Alberta needs to leave

Mertz and Carney are 2 birds of a feather. Mertz campaigned on remigration and reducing immigration and the very next day after winning, said, 'no that wasn't what I meant.' We're seeing the same sleight of hand with Carney. Neither of these WEFers will do anything to benefit their countries, all talk no substance.

I do not see a chance of substantive change in Canada until we reach a constitutional crises with AB, SK, QC and NL giving their notice that they are dropping out of confederation. The current parliamentary system with little representation given to the west and the fact we can be held hostage by a ragtag team of woke NDPers is nutz. We need a republic style gov't modeled after the USA with a strong bill of rights. (Freedom of speech which Carney is going after like a bull chasing a red flag)

Trudeau broke us and Carney will do nothing to help us, like getting eastern LNG ports and pipelines. Instead of creating more debt, giving obscene amounts of money to Ukraine, that money could have helped Canada. But that's not in Carney's plan. He is here to manage the bankruptcy of Canada. The sooner everyone accepts that fact, the sooner everything makes sense.

In order to ship lng to Europe, it has to be transported to the east coast. It can be mined in eastern Canada but, if that happened the east would not be eligible for money transfers from Alberta. I think the equalization payment should be in place to assist other provinces get their finances in order so they can support themselves. I don't think it should be a process that guarantees transfers indefinitely to provinces that refuse to deal with systematic problems that they do not want to correct.

Pretty sure some of what we are seeing is fealty to the king. The PM answers more to the king than to the taxpayers. Charles is an inbred closet Muslim sycophant with no care for Canadians and no skin in the game. The commonwealth is becoming an assortment of African/Muslim shitholes
