Ethics order forces floor-crosser Lori Idlout to relinquish control of NVision
The ruling comes months after records revealed NVision received hundreds of thousands of dollars in federal contracts while Idlout served as an MP.
Recently, MP Lori Idlout, who switched allegiance to support Mark Carney’s Liberals, has been instructed by the federal Ethics Commissioner to cease her role as a federal contractor. This decision follows revelations that a company she partially owns secured over $600,000 in government-funded contracts.
As reported by Blacklock’s Reporter, Idlout stated in a recent ethics disclosure that her stake in NVision Insight Group has been “placed in a trust.” The Ethics Commissioner has directed her not to receive any income from the company, as per the Parliament of Canada Act.
In a separate 2023 disclosure, Idlout identified herself as having a “significant ownership interest” in the Indigenous consulting firm, in compliance with Parliament’s Conflict of Interest Code.
