Élections Québec to provide voter information in French only

Élections Québec said the agency unsuccessfully attempted to persuade the provincial government to make exemptions for communications during an election.

Élections Québec will only be sending out voter information in French for the province’s upcoming election. The decision was made to comply with language laws.

While voter information cards have long been printed in both French and English, legislation adopted in 2022 made French the sole language of Quebec regarding any communication involving public institutions. The provincial elections authority is no exception.
