The reason they don't know is that they really don't care. If they did there would be procedures in place that flagged individuals who were still in the country after an expiring visa. Passports are routinely scanned at all departing flights, and can be compared to expired visas - it's not rocket science although it may conflict with the capabilities of the DEI Hires. When I re-enter Canada they ask when I left and my departure date is already on their screen in front of their eyes. So they don't know because they don't care. Let that sink in about what we are paying for.

As I have commented before, we should stop all immigration, all student visas, all work visas, until we make a system whereby we know where these people are, whether they are still in school, and that when they are supposed to leave they actually leave, or we can take them to the border. But it appears there is absolutely nothing. Obviously, anyone who has slipped in and ignored the law can talk with others back home about how completely lax Canada is, so why not come as well. Lie, cheat, steal, but get across the border with some validation and you can stay forever.

Add another 3/4 of a million plus students, TFW, family reunification, illegals, asylum claims, anybody and everybody in 2026, we should get to 6 million pretty easily.

We have federal paid employees, but no federal workers. How do these people get new visa'. Do they make or have a source of counterfeit visa' There are three next door to me, and they never leave. But they work for a year, lay around for a couple of months, and then they have another job.
I suspect that with the lieberals in power for so long that they really do not know what the population of Canada is. If almost 5 million are unaccounted for, I suspect there are significantly more. I firmly believe, by the strain on our healthcare and housing, our population is more like 50 million. Ten million more than we are ready for.
