Doug Ford says Canada could “dismantle” U.S. if united against Trump
Ford says Canada has spent too long reacting to Washington instead of fighting back.
Ontario Premier Doug Ford says a united Canada could “dismantle” the U.S. economy and make Americans “feel the pain” over Trump’s latest tariff threat.
Speaking ahead of a first ministers’ meeting in Charlottetown on Tuesday, Ford delivered some of his toughest rhetoric yet against the Trump administration.
“We could dismantle the U.S. if we wanted to, if we all worked together,” he said. “They need to feel the pain.”
Ford argued Canada has spent too long reacting to Washington instead of fighting back.
“I’m tired of the bully trying to take our lunch money all the time,” he said. “We always seem to be on our back heels. We need to be on the offence.”
