Doug Ford BLASTS Carney over Chinese EV deal
Prime Minister Mark Carney is facing backlash after agreeing to scale back tariffs on Chinese electric vehicles in return for reduced Chinese restrictions on Canadian farm exports.
The federal government is defending a newly announced trade agreement with China that will see Canada loosen tariff barriers on tens of thousands of Chinese-made electric vehicles. In exchange, Beijing has committed to easing import restrictions on Canadian canola and other goods.
