DND spends $1.2 million on research into zero-emission light-armoured vehicles
The United States Army also dabbled in the possibility of hybrid vehicles back in 1998, but its research found it to be too “cost-prohibitive.”
Canada’s Department of National Defence commissioned a $1.2 million study to examine whether it could be cost-effective to invest in zero-emission light-armoured vehicles.
Despite a swath of other research that made it clear that green military technology was a poor investment, the DND said it remains committed to meeting climate targets and conducted a Digital Feasibility Study.
