Conservative party members are set to vote on a tough-on-crime immigration overhaul this weekend, including mandatory deportation for convicted criminals, on-the-spot screening for asylum seekers, a one-month deadline to deport failed claimants and ending controversial programs like the Temporary Foreign Worker Program.

The Conservative Party’s national convention in Calgary, Alta., begins Thursday and runs until Saturday. A list of failed and advancing policy priorities was posted by the CPC, informing members of the policies they could vote on to help shape the platform of a future Conservative government.
