And why do the "First Nations" have special privileges over any provincial or federal matters. This is not their land as they claim that it is.

It's Carney so you have to think that there was likely something, likely more than one thing about this supposed deal that stank.

Given that Carney had already stated that there were conditions on this deal, like Eby and Indigenous (amongst others) that would make this deal a no go.

In addition the WEF, UN, Environmentalist nuances that Carney placed in this deal should have made Smith, at the very least go... Wait a minute.

Instead she did not do anything except make the deal appear like a good one.

It appears that more than a few in the UCP cared to differ.

From what I understand, the only tangible is that Smith agreed to increase climate taxation, the grift that never stops.

How is ramping up the carbon tax a win? Some have speculated it would be a 600% increase; that doesn't sound like a win worth a pipeline. My bet is still on a successful referendum vote towards separation, because with the Americans' backing a sovereign country, they can act as Alberta's advocates with Canada. I do not expect Canada to act in good faith, and I do not see this deal being a good faith deal.

I understand when negotiating there’s a ‘give to get’ but Western Canada seems to be the givers endlessly.

History continues and Ottawa’s $$ hunger always immense and bloated.

I didn’t call it a win. Unless I misunderstood, the only sure thing to come from the meeting is that Smith agreed to increase carbon tax or to fund a bs green project in exchange for a politicians promise/MOU to green light a pipeline to tidewater?

As we KNOW Alberta is landlocked, pipelines always inflammatory.

If we’re 2.1 trillion dollars in debt from their spending and ‘donations’ isn’t that treason???

That pipeline won't get build in the next 20 years.

The only thing we gained was more idiot carbon taxes.

In other words we've been had again.

Alberta separation NOW.!

I think Carney is buying time . This will never happen because he will have full control of Canada shortly and then cancel all deals he doesn't want to do or never intended to do . Alberta has to know they are on fire and need to get out fast .

A win for Carney. He's put Alberta back on the carbon tax scheme. He will inform his buddies that a pipeline will not happen. He will change his cabinet and punt those that are an issue and put in unelected "LIKE MINDED DOLTS".He will call an early election to try gain a majority and proceed to kill the country with migrants and push WEF,Un,Who policy. He will get his hands on CPP money, transfer to Brookfield Pension management funds, collect huge fee,put it into green fantasy and when it crashes they walk away.Alberta needs to seperate from the east, deal with the USA and we all benefit.

Just posturing over the smoke and mirrors that we have had for over 50 years. Danielle must get on board. Promoting sovereignty within Canada is like having one foot on the dock and the other on the boat as the boat is leaving the dock. She's going to end up ibn the water while the Independence ship sails off on a wonderful adventure.

As I see it there are two possibilities with one being a pipeline through BC which would expose Alberta oil to world prices and the other is some version of the Keystone line which would make Alberta oil keep its discounted oil price. I believe that the only reason Carney is looking at a line through BC is that he wants to irritate Trump to get back at being humiliated.

Alberta must push for both lines and if by a miracle gets both Canada can easily fill both given the time it will take to build the BC line.
