Crown rips up $28K fine over Nova Scotia’s unconstitutional “woods ban”

Freedom-loving Canadians are rejoicing after the Crown officially withdrew its ticket concerning Nova Scotia’s sweeping 2025 ban on entering the woods last summer.

On Wednesday, the Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms says the withdrawal officially ends enforcement proceedings scheduled for July 22, 2026.

Justice Centre-funded lawyers had planned to argue how the Supreme Court of Nova Scotia’s constitutional ruling affected Evely’s ticket and whether the province could still pursue penalties under a struck-down proclamation.
