Consumer Prices up 1.7 per cent in May compared to last year: StatsCan

The Consumer Price Index increased by 1.7 per cent on an annual basis last month, matching the 1.7 per cent increase in April, according to Statistics Canada.

The Consumer Price Index increased by 1.7 per cent on an annual basis last month, matching the 1.7 per cent increase in April, according to Statistics Canada.

Excluding energy, the CPI rose by 2.7 per cent overall in May, following a 2.9 per cent increase in April. It also rose by 0.6 per cent on a monthly basis last month.
