Taxpayer-funded news and media are on the chopping block at the Conservative Party Of Canada Convention in Calgary this week, as delegates demand Canada’s information landscape be returned to a true free market.

Conservative MP Jon Koopmans, who represents the riding of Lethbridge, sponsored a submission titled News and Media. The submission aims to “protect freedom of speech” and “minimize government intervention and regulation in the market.”
