Conservatives are demanding an end to the “two-tier justice system” that lets non-citizen criminals claim asylum and receive lighter treatment than Canadian citizens simply because they are still going through the immigration process.
The motion presented in the House of Commons on Tuesday calls on the Carney government to prevent asylum claims from people whose cases are still working their way through the courts.
