Conservatives are accusing the House of Commons’ latest floor crosser, Nova Scotia MP Chris d’Entremont, of forsaking his constituents and his values in pursuit of his own ambitions.
D'Entremont is a despicable example of our species. Ergo, he'll fit right in with the Liberal/NDP/WEF coalition.
His legacy will be - along with JagMeat Singh - to go down in Canadian history as the worst of the worst that our political system produces. A traitor and a spineless coward. He has permanently abandoned any claim to integrity, moral fibre, or backbone. One can only wonder what his 30 pieces of silver consist of. Speaker of the House? Cabinet position? The Senate? Deputy PM?
The citizens of his riding need to organise and demand that his seat be returned to the Conservative Party, as selected by them.
There are no shortage of other examples, but this one, as much as any of the others, shows the desperate need for political reform in Canada.
MP's should always be allowed to run as independents, in my Opinion. It is one of the few tools available to MP's when faced with corrupt leadership of a political party. Personally, I hope in the next year or two to see several Liberal MP's become independents. This would bring down the Lib government.
More at work here than just this guy’s ambition. Years ago Steven Harper talked about the “Culture of Dependency” that was rife in Atlantic Canada. This “Culture” has been fostered by the Liberal Party and the “good old byes” grease my palm philosophy. Why would you want tax cuts when you are getting somebody elses money?
This is a classic issue with conservatism, explaining why conservative parties have struggled to maintain power as consistently as the Liberals. Conservative governments have always had challenges with ego, which is also evident with Maxime Bernier, who left the Conservative Party over leadership disagreements and started the PPC. Conservatives often create their own challenges due to a lack of solidarity, which is why Liberal governments have been in power more frequently than Conservative ones in Canada. And the Liberals bank on the conservative population to be easily swayed, never definitive on the problems, and strike out into other avenues because some may actually be closet liberals.
I suspect that some individuals enter politics in certain ridings but find their beliefs controversial among the public they seek to represent. As a result, they rebrand themselves as a more popular party and promote that party's narrative. But secretly they do not think that way, so when they reach the pinnacle of politics, they flip-flop when their ego gets ruffled or they can't hide their true agenda anymore. Has the political figure just not disgraced the voting base that installed them? Recall vote?
This man should have never been elected at all. His is neither liberal or conservative he is out for personal recognition. Well he has it now. I think he will regret his decision in the not too distant future. As he said he won’t get reelected.
d’Entremont will pay the price for his actions for the rest of his life! He left behind the respect and deep affection of his friends and colleagues that are now gone forever! TRUST! A small word that encompasses so much! A Northern Perspective interview with a “once personal friend and long time colleague below says it all!!

This must not be allowed to stand.

D'Entremont apparently only read one history book and it was written by Benedict Arnold.
He wants access to the Liberal trough!
OINK...OINK...OINK...
His true stripes, curly tail and round snout revealed for all to see.
Disgusting action by an MP elected to hold Conservative values.
