Conservative MP reveals Liberal tactics to recruit floor-crossers
Conservative MP Kelly DeRidder tells Marc Patrone the Liberals used fear, flattery and promises tied to her riding in an effort to get her to cross the floor
A Conservative MP is speaking out about the Liberal Party’s effort to recruit her across the floor, describing a pitch that “started with fear,” moved to flattery, and included suggestions it “would be good for your riding.”
Kitchener Centre MP Kelly DeRidder says she rejected the approach and is now going public. She joins Marc Patrone to discuss the tactics she says were used and why she chose to speak out.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Mark Carney says world leaders privately regret signing trade deals with the Trump administration, claiming they “weren’t really worth the paper they were written on.”
Canada’s own trade talks with the United States remain stalled.
Plus, Finance Minister François-Philippe Champagne defends the $25 billion Canada Strong Fund, saying Canada’s AAA credit rating and low borrowing costs make it possible to finance the program through government debt.

Thank you MP Kelly DeRidder. Truth isn't dead yet.
Carney isn't worth a nickel to Canadians, so he has no right to bad mouth any deal he signed with the U.S. What a bit of pompousity he is.
